Instead she provides a route you can travel to find a path back to the healthy norm that is the essential you.

Like many world-changing ideas, Susun Weed’s central belief seems obvious once pointed out: The best way back to your healthy norm is to use the safest methods first. Then, if needed, move on to more potent procedures that might cause harm along with their healing.

SEVEN RIVERS OF HEALING

An Outline of the Course:

Part 1:  Seven Rivers of Healing: Overview
What are the Seven Rivers of Healing?  The First River: embrace emptiness, The Second River: investigate options, The Third River: restore energetic connections, The Fourth River: strengthen and feed health, The Fifth River: incite strong responses, The Sixth River: take pills, The Seventh River: destroy obstacles.  The ordering of the Rivers is based on the frequency and severity of harm, including side effects.  They are ordered by this thought:  First, do no harm.

Part 2:  Overview Seven Rivers of Healing: Overview
The first four Rivers always build health.  The last three Rivers restore health, but erode it at the same time.

Part 3:  Seven Rivers of Healing: Overview
The Rivers flow from the Spring—the ancient headwater.

Part 4:  Seven Rivers of Healing: Overview
Holographic medicine.  We co-create our lives.

Part 5:  Seven Rivers of Healing: Overview
The Three Traditions of Healing—The Scientific Tradition, The Heroic Tradition, and the Wise Woman Tradition—and the Seven Rivers.

Part 6:  The First River of Healing:  embrace emptiness
Sometimes the most important aspect of healing is to do nothing, to sit in meditation, to listen to the wise voice within and to embrace emptiness.

Part 7:  The First River of Healing:  embrace emptiness
Enter the silence.  Discover possibilities.

Part 8:  The First River of Healing:  embrace emptiness
Doing nothing is not avoidance. Chaos is the ordering principle of the universe.

Part 9:  The First River of Healing:  embrace emptiness
The First River of Healing is pure and innocent.  It is free from expectation, attachment and desire.  The First River is secluded and still.

Part 10:  The Second River of Healing:  investigate options
Investigating options can satisfy the rational mind.

Part 11:  The Second River of Healing:  investigate options
Information and wisdom are both necessary in making healing choices.

Part 12:  The Second River of Healing:  investigate options
Diagnosis need not always be invasive.  Remember, you are your own best expert on your own health.

Part 13:  The Second River of Healing:  investigate options
Naming, or diagnosing, is a very powerful act.  A diagnosis can focus the problem.  But it can also give us an excuse to disengage from the problem.

Part 14:  The Second River of Healing:  investigate options
Set time limits.    Some non-invasive diagnostic tools.  Some useless diagnostic tools.  Telling your story helps others

Part 15:  The Third River of Healing:  restore energetic connections
The Third River engages us physically, psychically and symbolically.  Approach with an open, questioning mind and heart.  Restoring energetic connections creates health

Part 16:  The Third River of Healing:  restore energetic connections
Symbolizing your break with health to restore health.

Part 17:  The Third River of Healing:  restore energetic connections
Set a time limit. Allow the energy.  Conduct the energy.  Let go of resistance, of control.

Part 18:  The Third River of Healing:  restore energetic connections
Vibrational energy flows through the earth.  It is our Ancestral energetic connection.  Access it in many different ways.

Part 19:  The Third River of Healing:  restore energetic connections
The many ways energy can affect us.

Part 20:  The Third River of Healing:  restore energetic connections
We engage our imagination to create healing ritual, and ceremony.  We envision archetypes and we have visions.  Light, non-manipulative touch is part of this River of Healing.  Reiki, hands-on healing, and psychic surgery are of the Third River.

Part 21:  The Third River of healing:  restore energetic connections
The Third River has many tributaries:  homeopathy, placebo effect, chi, faith, superstition, prayer, all names are true.  Can we be what we think?  Can the mind alter the functioning of the body?

Part 22:  The Fourth River of healing:  strengthen and feed health
Being fit and eating well are true foundations of health.

Part 23:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
Set a time limit.    Promote flexibility of muscle, bone, mind, emotion, imagination and immunity with tonics.

Part 24:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
Drumming, tonic therapies like Hellerwork, and herbal tonics like nettle and burdock feed health.

Part 25:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
Strength comes from rhythmic stress, a lively imbalance.  Laughter and grief are both tonics.

Part 26:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
Real food gives us form and energy.  What is real food?

Part 27:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
Eat abundantly of that which is abundant.  Eat seasonally of that which is in season.  Eat foods that are wild and free, or fresh and local.  Variety nourishes life.

Part 28:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
Stories create strong patterns in our lives and energy.  Use this recipe for nourishing herbal infusions.

Part 29:  The Fourth River of Healing:  strengthen and feed health
These things are best avoided:  fasting, soy products, blue green algae, and nutritional supplements.

Part 30:  The Great Divide
The watershed of the first four Rivers meets the watershed of the last three Rivers at the Great Divide.

Part 31:  The Fifth River of Healing:  incite strong responses
Approach the Fifth River with care.

Part 32:  The Fifth River of Healing:  incite strong responses
The wise woman has favorites from the Fifth River.  What’s wrong with a little excitement?

Part 33:  The Fifth River of Healing:  incite strong responses
Remedies from the Fifth River can cause harm, some more than others.

Part 34:  The Fifth River of Healing:  incite strong responses
A “tonic” is not a “stimulant.”  How to rate herbal sedatives and herbal stimulants.

Part 35:  The Fifth River of Healing:  incite strong responses
Relieving pain with gentle heat.  Menstrual cramp relievers, from lightest to strongest.

Part 36:  The Fifth River of Healing:  incite strong responses
Fifth River techniques from Japan, China and Tibet.  Beware of addiction in the Fifth River.  What are fake foods?

Part 37:  The Sixth River of Healing:  take pills
It is best to have a guide on the Sixth River.  The remedies of the Sixth River are poisons.  The focus is on active constituents.  Substances are isolated, concentrated, extracted, synthesized, purified, standardized.

Part 38:  The Sixth River of Healing:  take pills
Is it dangerous to take any pill?  Do I need to take pills?  Women beware!  Due to smaller body size and smaller liver, you are especially at risk when taking pills.

Part 39:  The Sixth River of Healing:  take pills
The further a remedy is from nature, the more concentrated, extracted, isolated and synthetic it is, the more dangerous it becomes.

Part 40:  The Sixth River of Healing:  take pills
Nutrition cannot be put in a pill.  Problems with supplements.  Synthetic medicines are enormously powerful.  They care but cannot heal.

Part 41:  The Sixth River of Healing:  take pills
A list of precautious to consider before taking any pills.

Part 42:  The Seventh River of Healing:  destroy obstacles
We enter the Seventh River knowing we will be wounded.  We hope to be reshaped, remade, renewed, reformed.

Part 43:  The Seventh River of Healing:  destroy obstacles
Using the Seventh River is a last resort.  To insure the least harm in the Seventh River use all the Rivers together.

Part 44:  The Seventh River of Healing:  destroy obstacles
Invasive diagnostic techniques can be a threat to the health. The Seventh River offers quick fixes.

Part 45:  The Seventh River of Healing:  destroy obstacles
The Seventh River offers physical perfection.  Playing with radiation in The Seventh River.
