Permission to gain 10lbs during menopause is just what I needed. The changes that have happened to my body have been a real struggle...you have eased my pain.
I eat healthy-I exercise and still gained the weight. It started just as you said-tops were too tight and then the waist on my pants. (getting a new wardrobe out of it was nice).
I will embrace my "new body" and continue to live a health lifestyle.

Greetings to all
I just wanted to let you know that I have received the books and DVD I ordered.
I have spend the last 2 days immersed in Susun's "Healing Wise" and have watched the DVD "Juliette of the Herbs" with my 7 year old daugher. I was deeply moved and my daugther was transfixed! She is at this very moment asking to watch it again.

Love your Healing Wise book and its philosophy on Scientific vs heroic v Wise Woman. I too followed the same route - traditional doctors where 'they' told me what was wrong with me, then a wanderign into health food stores where we focused on 'cleaning the unclean body', supplements, and still gave away our power. Now with wise woman, I can sink my teeth into it. I share the perspective 100%, and I'm glad to have a name to go along with it. …

I am SO GLAD to have found you folks online. Somehow I connected, having
been interested and reading writings of Jean Shinoda Bolen ...and looking
for menopausal and "passage" support and info. I am an RN (age 51)and am
married to a "traditional" family practice MD and go to a "traditional" male
gynecologist. An inner voice has been telling me to embrace this time and
approach it naturally and now , finding your site is a wonderful support.
Have ordered the Menopausal book by Susun Weed from your site and look
forward to it and returning online.
I HAVE to learn more about "listening to the plants" as I have always felt
such an affinity with the green botanical presence in our lives.

I am computer challenged and never go
on the computer except to look for Juliette's books. I love her and am a
gigantic fan and who knew that a 90-something year old beautiful, inspiring
animal loving herbal lady would in a round about way, along with everything
else, teach me to go on the computer!
Anyway, I am interested in Spanish
Mnt Life, Gypsy in New York, Summer in Galilee when they are reprinted. Let
me know also if there is a package price. I definitely would like to
purchase them. (I have the Dog and Cat, Traveler's Joy, Nature's Children,
etc. already. Thank you so very much for reprinted these precious gems, and
now many of us will finally be able to afford to buy them. Are you going to
be reprinting Wanderer's in the New Forest?
I plan on coming to one of
Susun Weed's seminars before the year is out. I was watching a Susun Weed
video up at Sage Mnt. this summer (my first herbal gathering) and somebody
walked in and said Susun Weed at 7 a.m. in the morning?!! Then Rosemary
walked in a little later and said sweetly, "Ah, Susun" and watched along for
a few minutes.

Biography
Susun
S. Weed has no official diplomas of any kind; she left high
school in her junior year to pursue studies in mathematics and
artificial intelligence at UCLA and she left college in her
junior year to pursue life.
Susun began studying herbal medicine in 1965
when she was living in Manhattan while pregnant with her daughter,
Justine Adelaide Swede.
She wrote her first book -- Wise Woman Herbal
for the Childbearing Year (now in its 29th printing)--
in 1985 and published it as the first title of Ash Tree Publishing
in 1986.
It was followed by Healing Wise (1989), New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way (1992 and revised
in 2002), and Breast Cancer? Breast Health! The Wise Woman
Way (1996).
In addition to her writing, Ms Weed trains apprentices,
oversees the work of more than 300 correspondence course students,
coordinates the activities of the Wise Woman Center, and is
a High Priestess of Dianic Wicca, a member of the Sisterhood
of the Shields, and a Peace Elder.
Susun Weed is a contributor to the Routledge
International Encyclopedia of Women's Studies, peer- reviewed
journals, and popular magazines, including a regular column
in Sagewoman.
Her worldwide teaching schedule encompasses
herbal medicine, ethnobotany, pharmacognosy, psychology of healing,
ecoherbalism, nutrition, and women's health issues and her venues
include medical schools, hospital wellness centers, breast cancer
centers, midwifery schools, naturopathic colleges, and shamanic
training centers, as well as many conferences.
Susun appears on many television and radio
shows, including National Public Radio and NBC News.
