I would love to be able to take Susun's "Seven Rivers of Healing" Email
Course. I follow her faithfully and have become more acquainted with herbal
medicine because of her. … some type of volunteer work also so that I might obtain more knowledge that Susun has to offer?

Thank you, Karen!

Love to you, to Susun, and the rest of the tribe,

First let me thank you for writing such wonderful books. I love the New Menopausal Years. It is my new bible to refer to as I am a newborn crone. I wear my graying hair proudly! I have tried the oatstraw, nettle and sage infusions and am now comfortably hot flash and night sweat free. ..

May Gods Blessings be on you,

Several years ago, I heard Susun when she spoke in Eugene.. It was very special and empowering. Keep up the great gathering on the web.........A web that includes us all.

Hello Susun,

I have been absorbed in your websites lately; learning, dreaming, planning. I am feeling an intense pull. I feel I will never truly have the confidence to embrace myself, my soul, my dream and my purpose if I do not throw myself into the rawness that is [or at least seems to be] your Shamanic Herbal Apprenticeship. Of course, I plan to attend a work weekend before completely committing myself…

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Susun,

Thank you so much for taking my call this evening! I appreciate your
time and your special attention to my needs. I look forward to
following your advice. You are such a wonderful advocate for women
and natural living. Perhaps our paths will cross in the future.

Thanks again! Peace and love,

Dear Susun,

I am still very much wanting to study with you this year…
I enjoyed speaking with you and am still looking forward to learning from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I'm gratefully following the infusion regimen on your Website which was recommended by a close friend who has taken your classes from you. I am trying to avoid having to take medication for a recent diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Dear Susun,

I have been trying to navigate my way through your website but I am really so much a 20th century woman I find it really hard to do all this electronic stuff.. but at least the power of the net brought your world to me here in Avalon!!!

I'm a Brazilian apprentice practitioner who
just now heard of this magnifical singer, Lisa Thiel, who mixes the
traditional chants transforming them into a magical contemporary melody. I'm
glad 'cause you exist, and it makes me happier because I know I'm not alone.
Here, in Brazil, the Art is very weak, and it's still a kind of taboo to
talk about another God that is not the christian one.

Thanks for your
existence. A great hug in your heart.
Shine brightly and live your dreams!

Hi Susun:

I am about to order a variety of herbs for infusions with Mountain Rose Herbs. I enjoyed hearing you on a radio show program.

I originally found out about you from my good friend, Dr. Steve Canarick.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Warm Regards,

… a very LARGE THANK YOU FOR your wonderful books and articles; I got thru menopause clutching your book!

To health,
Shelley in San Jose

Blessings Karen Joy!

I am very happy. Aside from feeling a bit more empowered by identifying what is here, I also found some much needed help. I am working an acre of land here, and it was overwhelming. Thanks to a couple of suggestions from the board members, I called my local aboriginal council here… It has been a wonderful week! I appreciate all your help,, and the wonderful ladies on Susun's board. I felt at an impasse. I knew I was working way too hard, and suffering in my health because of it.. but feel so compelled to move forward. Having the help I need is such a blessing.

I hope your weekend is a great one,, I have really enjoyed speaking with you Karen Joy,, and appreciate your guidance.

Blessings with big loving hugs..

Dear Susun,

I’ve found your books quite helpful …

Thank you .

Thank you so much to you and to Susun Weed for your generosity.

I am more than impressed with all the content on your website – thank you ….
thank you

As I looked through the mid-month ezine and saw the article about the Green Goddess week, and then read the article "Why is Susun angry?" it brought back so many memories of my apprenticeship in 1995 (how did the years go by so quickly?).

I remember the day that Susun was loudly correcting me for something (can't even remember what) and when she had finished I said in a very quiet voice "I don't hear you when you yell" I think she yelled at me only one more time during my stay!

I wish I had paid attention to earlier information about the Green Goddess week....I didn't know past apprentices could attend. Needless to say I will pay more attention to the dates for 2010 and do my best to be there.

This is my 5th summer in my current home and under much love, attention and care, and the loving energies of many friends and students, this summer the yard is more alive than ever and there are fairies in a quiet corner for the first time. The nettle who guards the back gate is over six feet tall and she peeks over the fence, ever alert.

Many green and bright blessings to Susun and all at the Wise Woman Center.

Blessed be,
Deb (1995)

Does Susun refer to St. John’s Wort as St. Joan’s Wort?!

Bless her proud, feminist heart! LOL…
Susun is a righteous character!

Hello Susun,

I'm a gay man living in the Pacific Northwest with my partner of 20 years. I
met my first Craft teacher, Meglyn Whitethorn, when I was 13! She taught me
the foundations of the Goddess religion. Meglyn and I still keep in touch!
I just wanted to write to say, I've met a few so-called 'Green Witches' in
the past--most of them are thinly veiled Gardnerian Wiccans who wouldn't
know rosemary from rhubarb--but you, Susun, are the REAL deal. I LOVE your
work! I recommend your books and your Web site to students and friends. My
favorite book by you is _Healing Wise_. Thank you!

I was introduced to this site by a friend. I am interested in receiving information occasionally, therefore it would be great if you subscribe me to your newsletter, I would appreciate it. …
Thank you very much. It is great that you bring all this information to so many people.

With friendly greetings,

Thank you for all the knowledge you share!
Be blessed and walk in beauty.

In my teens I inadvertently cut off the tips of two fingers while working in a cafe kitchen.. one of the other cooks- an herbalist and wise women extraordinaire ran out to the garden and cut off a leaf of comfrey. She picked up my finger tips from the cutting board.. put them back on my fingers, put the leaves over them and wrapped them up. 48 hours later they were seamlessly healed and to this day a tiny scar, and slight rotation of the finger prints are all that remind me of that event... thank you for all you bring to this gentle life,

In peace, with joy,

Thank you for all you do. I found your book for pregnancy & birth so valuable during both my pregnancies, especially with my twins!
Jen and I are in the same home school co-op in TX and we are getting ready to do a child's intro to herbs.

Hello, my friend Jenny says you have much to teach in the ways of women and healing,
I would be honored to be your friend.

Love and Light, Tracy

dearest susun,

i have been thinking about you a lot since meeting you at the fertility workshop a few weeks ago. i feel that this somewhat brief meeting (and our wonderful phone conversation about my transition to eating some red meat) has already impacted my life in ways that are hard to explain, yet very tangible. i will be writing you a long letter in the near future, as i feel that i need to share some of these changes with you. furthermore, i have been reading your books, and am planning on coming to an apprenticeship before the end of the year. you are a beautiful and strong teacher, and i sincerely hope that i can become your student.

With love and respect,

Hi Susun...

I owe you a letter. lol I am the lady who planted her front yard in edible weeds. The neighbors hate me! They mow their dirt and I have this beautiful green carpet. lol not grass though. Even hubby has given up the idea of a lawn. You should be a fly on the wall. He's so proud of our green. I was betwixt and between as to which plant would be my green ally; nettle or dandelion. Low and behold neither grew back strongly this year - instead, sweet violet carpeted the yard! It's interspersed with beautiful plantain. So much for choosing. :) Now that the herbs and garden are in full bloom, the Herbal Course is coming right along. I love it. Just wanted you to know.

The course is so good ~Amber (Morning Rain)

Hi Susun,

Love your books..have learned a lot from you.

Hello Susun,

I follow you on HerbMentor, and appreciate your gift!
Love and Light!

Thank you for accepting my friend request. I am truly honored. I bought your book "Childbearing year" when it first came out and I have been in awe of your information ever since. I have recently moved to an acre property and was so blessed to find an overabundance of wild gifts that I am making my first infusions with tonight. You have enriched my life in so many ways..

Thank you and green blessings with big earthy hugs..

I enjoyed your book and would love to be a friend of yours on Facebook. :)

We are all sad for the passing of the gypsy godmother of herbalism. Thank you for promoting and selling her books/videos. and for all you do/have done in the service of better relationships with our green allies...

Dear Susun,

As many before me said, thank you for accepting my request to be in your company. I am a virgin to the workings of the herbal world and the most I’ve ventured out from a normal tea bag is to have some dried sage tea, which is also part of my tradition coming from the Middle East. I’ve heard you speak with JaiKaur on BlogShowRadio and fell in love with your strength and resolve. I proceeded to check out your website, many articles and talks and was inspired like many others to go out and get some herbs to try....Finally, I would like to say that your strength and passion is contagious please let me know if there is anything one can do to help with your vision in this part of the world.

Best regards, (I’m not used to saying anything else. It does seem appropriate, doesn’t it?
☺) Janine

thank you so much for "Becoming An Herbalist," a story so rich with life, so life affirming, and so profound for me personally - in ways I can't possibly communicate here.

You're very brave.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for your work. "Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year" has been my herbal Bible through pregnancies, birth and miscarriages. Thanks for making herbal remedies accessible to all women.

Greetings from Australia! I will take this opportunity to thank you for your work which has since my teens inspired me to learn more about the natural world, aspire to become a herbal healer and one day own my own bit of paradise to raise my family!

I have been studying "with you" since the 1980s and attended your workshops at the Goddess Temple of Orange County then went to Persian food with you for dinner

Hi Susun!

Hello! I have been aware of you for almost two decades and am reading your book about menopause. May we be friends?

Hi Susun,

Last month I was in a 'health food' country store outside Green Bay, WI when I spied your book "New Menopausal Years The Wise Woman Way". I'd never heard of you or your writings before, but when I opened this book, my eyes flooded with tears. I've been perimenopausal for years with severe hot flashes and night sweats (and lots of the crazies!) and it wasn't until I read this book that I felt affirmed and strange as it sounds---loved. The grandmother crone mentor image is what I needed to lead me through this. Anyway, I've since sought out a local herbalist, perused your website, (am considering taking the class that's offered there) and have tried various ways from the book to sooth my body & mind. I see you are coming to Sheboygan in October so I'm already making plans to be there and to take some friends.

Thank you so much for your work!—

Ah Dear Susun,

I think of you often from way back at Green Witch Camp at Hollyhock. I still remember the way you took that roll of film from the guy taking pictures of us gussying up half naked.

Would love to connect!

Greetings, Susun.

We talked for an hour or when you were in austin last year. thanks much for the time, you remain an inspiration to me.

Blessings to you Susun!

I had gone on the board and asked a couple of questions that gave me some fantastic answers. Thank you so much. I also got hold of the aboriginal center here to find a local herbalist! This led to a long conversation and my donating the acre of land we have here along with seed (which I already have) and canning jars to the aboriginal food bank! I am just thrilled! I could not tend this acre alone, and this is such a great cause I am so blessed to be able to participate with. I also get the benefit of feeling like I have gone home. I have found my tribe here and am so blessed to be able to help. It just snowballed from just one question..Thank you so much for being a part of this blessing. Your board gave me just the right insight and help to reach out and find more than I could have ever imagined, and an herbalist from my area who is thrilled to go on this exploration with me for the healing herbs that will help many.

Blessings to you.. with big loving hugs..

Getting "reacquainted" with Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way...thank you for your invaluable information...

Thank you! I am currently 43 and trying to conceive (I had three children between 30-34). I just ordered your book. I can't wait to get it. It was SO HELPFUL during pregnancy the last time around (was seeing a wonderful midwife in Charlottesville, VA who loved all your suggestions). I've never had problem conceiving, but I imagine pregnancy at this age will take more of a toll.

Thanks and many blessings to you!

My name is Kimberly and I was browsing around for some information
on the health benefits of some herbs for an adults summer program I'm
helping to organize at the local library. You seem to have a lot of really
useful information that I'm sure will be a huge help…

I have read your book on Breast Health and I like the things you have to say about mammograms and ultrasounds…

Hi Karen,
I want to thank you so much for replying. I did not do the mammogram today… I'm soo happy I read your website and did not do the mammogram. … I already the book and can't wait to read it. Thank so much for such helpful information and for listening :)

Dear Susun,

Peace and Respect. I am Jamila, an educator, writer and
student/daughter/lover of our mother Earth. I am currently reading your book
Healing Wise and came across your website. I am elated that you offer
intensive apprenticeship opportunities and would count it nothing short of a
blessing to be able to participate in the Shamanic Herbal Apprenticeship for
at least eight weeks.

I am writing to inquire about scholarships. I reviewed the work study/refund
options on the website, however I will need more assistance. I am willing to
work fiercely in exchange for being your student if given the opportunity.

Please let me know if there are scholarship options and or if we can
establish an arrangement.

Hi there, I'm a fan of yours.

Thanks for the video on nettles infusion, as I recently purchased some at
the local farmers' market here in Chicago, and have made teas.
Thanks so much, and I'd enjoy receiving your newsletter, too.

Hi Susun,

I just wanted to send you a note to let you know my appreciations for your teachings this past weekend at the International Herbal Symposium. I was with you for only a short time (I attended your Tree Spirit walk), but gained some very valuable lessons and insights that I have been carrying with me. Also, I was intrigued by what you had to say about raw foods, and so checked out your debate with Brigette Mars on youtube. I thought your argument was so well researched, understandable, and made such perfect sense. And your final words "humans are not meant to have to think about what they eat" (perhaps not in those exact words) was so deeply perfect!

Thank you for your time & wisdom,

Dear Susun,

I wanted to thank you so much for your lecture on magical plants at IHS this past weekend. After working very hard for several years to complete Dr. Christopher's Herbalist program, I went to IHS looking for some spiritual nourishment, and wow did I find it! I've read your articles before, but was totally taken by surprise upon meeting you. Wonderfully so! My roommates can attest that I did nothing but talk about walking with you on Sunday, and I was completely heartbroken when I mixed up the starting time and missed it. Sitting at your feet for just a short period of time in the chapel affected me deeply. I am now looking for a way to come study with you in NY in the future. Your fiery energy resonated with me deeply, I cannot wait for our paths to cross again. Thank you!

Thank you, for this opportunity. Susun's book on Menopause is the only book that tells it like it is…

Thank you.

Hi Karen,
I am glad to participate in this correspondence course and am anxiously awaiting my first mailing from Susun!

Dear Ms Weed

I live in Corfu island, NW of Greece, For the last few weeks I have been searching for a herbalist distance learning program and yours seems to be nearest to my interest and the path of my life.

The truth is that I'm looking not only for a program, but also for an inspired teacher and when I found you via Internet, a bell sounded in my mind!!!!!!!.

So, I am thinking very seriously to order ,"Spirit and practice of the Wise Woman Tradition Course" but I would like to know if the names of the herbs are written with their original Latin name or are only with their common English name.

Thanks in advance

My name is Ifat, and I live in Israel, in the city of Tel Aviv. I would like to study the ABC of Herbalism correspondence course…
I also want to thank Susun Weed, for all the information and inspiration. I drink herbal infusions daily, make vinegars, infused oils, and eating whatever fresh plants I find, and these are all by being inspired from Susun Weed. Also, in my healing sessions I work with the wise woman ways, and find it very reliving. ThanksJ

Best wishes,

Dear Susun,

Hi. How are you? I am looking forward to seeing you at the Women's Herbal Conference…

Much love,

Just got back from IHS... It was great to see your Mom. Saw her
prostate class. She surely is the best teacher ever. I can never get
enough of her talks. Bought all those new DVD’s Dave made as well. :)

Have a great day!

I have much to say but will keep it short to respect your time. I encountered your videos and the messages they encompass for the first time last night and absorbed your message for several hours. I couldn't pick a favorite but I was particularly riveted watching your debate about raw vs. cooked. I think that you not only made an excellent argument but presented your logic in a way that would be very difficult to refute. Plus you showed wonderful grace in the face of the static presented by the other two ladies. I don't really ever write to people like this, but I was compelled to reach out and communicate that your message has really found a home in my mind and heart and thank you so much for sharing your 'green blessings' with us. The light you shine is reaching into many dark corners. I honor your message and look forward to passing on the wisdom.

Again thank you.
