Dear Susun:
I am very new to your work, having only discovered you a few days ago. However, your writings have helped me to understand what is happening to my body and to nourish her instead of demanding the impossible.
I recognise that I am in the middle of my menopausal years (at age 54); last year at this time I was visiting neurologists and the like trying to find out what was causing the numbness and tingling in my body. I began to work long distance with a wonderful shaman in Utah along with a couple of naturopaths close by. We had regained most of my "normal" life, until I hit a wall a week or so ago, and was unable to function again.
As I lay in bed last week, trying to ignore the ringing in my ears, and the buzzing in my body, I had an encounter with a Queen of Faerie who takes cares of the troupe in my backyard. I was later instructed that this had been my initiation to "Crone", that this land of Faerie was now closed to me, as the Queen had gone on to another dimension and the troupe were waiting for their new Queen.
In googling Faerie Queen and menopause, I came across your website, and read many of your articles. Not only did I come to understand better my time with the Faerie Queen, I also found the articles very comforting and empowering. I just felt I had to thank you for making them available.
Wishing all the very best.,
Love & Light, Carolyn

First of all I would like to wish you a happy birthday, I know it is not until tomorrow but as busy as I am I do not want to forget to send wishes.
I live in a ghost town in Nevada of maybe 275 pop. and when I moved here last year I came to realize the needs in this area for herbal aid. The nearest doctor is 26 miles away with the next nearest 140 miles. Most of the people here are close to our age group and old fashion in there ways so they only go to the doctors when they think they are dying, :). I could not figure out why I was drawn to this town at first, now I know.
I was looking at your website and found you to be an amazing woman. Thank you for being out there for all of us. I have read some of your articles in LearningHerbs and found them to be very informative.
Blessings, Penny

Hello Justine,
… Reading Susan's newsletters and the articles on her website have given me the confidence to use herbs on my family, I have been into herbs since I was 11 years old and I am now 33 and it is just in these last few years that I have started to use them, at first it was out of desperation as my 11 year old daughter was getting chronic tonsillitis every three weeks and ended up with a abscess on her tonsil. I cured it with olive leaf extract and echinacea. I have three children with ages 14, 11 and 9 and we use herbs to treat everything we can, we rarely need antibiotics any more which is a huge relief and it is wonderful to have the confidence to know how to make herbal medicine and how to treat your family. I am currently trying out different methods on my husband and his psoriasis.
I wildcraft many of my herbs and my children come along and help me, we also work together to make our medicines. Recently my youngest daughter who is 9 was having allergy tests at the hospital and was telling the nurses all about plantain as it was one of the things she was tested for and they were all very impressed with her knowledge.
I have been watching the youtube videos and they are great, your little girl is so sweet, I miss the toddler stage when they are slightly independent and exploring the world but still need you so much, it is beautiful. Congratulations on your beautiful daughter.
And thank you for all the behind the scenes work you do, without you I and so many other women would not be able to access all that wonderful information that you have on the web, there is not often a day that I don't visit Susan's website in the quest for an answer to one thing or another.
It was my dream as a child to become a herbalist and Susan's and your work has encouraged that dream to materialize again. In the next few years I will be going back to school to get my Bachelor of Herbology, in Australia you need a certificate to practice.
Blessed Be, Janine

Comfrey is the best! I hurt my toe and only had to soak it in Comfrey 3 times before it "miraculously" healed with no pain and I could teach my aerobics class again. I used no other remedy. Yay, yay, Comfrey!

I've got comfrey infusing on my counter right now! : D I "found" Susun last Feb. and began reading her website, and then bought and read her books (over and over), watched her many utube videos, and heard her on several tele-conferences. I tell everyone about Susun and get them to drink the infusions (at least!). I am so thankful for all of this. My next would be to take some of her classes...and the greatest would be to go to Woodstock for some classes with my sister!

Hi Susun
I've been a devotee of the Wise Woman tradition since friends gave me your Healing Wise book in 1997. I have just been hanging out with one weed a year as you suggest since that time.
Last year I discovered motherwort and it saved me from the clutches of premenopausal homocidal urges and unreleased grief. I drank tea that I made from fresh and dried mother, put her in my pillow, slept on bundles of her and within a month I was more of a human than a monster. Anyway, a few months back I was in an old library that is part of a nun's residence and a retreat centre and I found an old tape recording of you giving a talk on Menopause. You talked about bleeding at the jean housten retreat in your white dress. I listened to your story and bled for the first time after 77 days of no blood. Powerful.
I really appreciate everything you said, and have thought lots about how energy goes up, this has been so true. Then I did a painting and I didn't intend this to be so, but, the head of the dancing woman ended up red, adn then I understood the whole painting was about body at menopause…. Lots of appreciation

Thanks to another wise woman who showed me one of your DVD's and book...I have found relief from an old nemesis that has haunted me since I was 8 yrs old...now about to hit 44 yrs. I bought your book, which arrived in the post last week and downloaded all the info you have about bladder infections from your web site… You gave me something I had lost...hope! … Anyway...you are a champion, thank you for your guidance and inspiration, being pain free and fear free are states of being that I cannot put a value on.

Hi Susun,
1st I want to thank you for your wonderful sharing of your knowledge! I have come to healing crisis in my life in so many ways.... I counsel children and youth who have been sexually abused... along with that and other things in my life.... I met my wall with my health and it caused great anxiety... I have your healing wise book and started reading it again..... I so did not want to take medicines.... during this process I intuitively stopped taking all supplements and then came to your book. I started taking oatstraw infusion.... I also felt really attracted to nettle. So I drink a litre of nettle in the morning about an hour after my oatstraw infusion. I know you say to keep it simple... yet I am so attracted to both these herbs... and take them apart from each other... is that okay? I am not mixing them during infusion, I infusing them separately. I can tell you this that I was in a really bad state of anxiety and that has come down drasticall..... and the red clover too... but, I am trying to keep it simple like you say… greatly want to thank you for your sharing of knowledge... it feels so right your philosophies on healing and herbs.. I have enjoyed watching your videos and reading articles on your site.
With so much gratitude,
Hayley

Hi Susun
I sent you a friend request. I just got finished with your New Menopausal Years and I loved the book. I am not sure how I even fell upon it, but I did and I am happy. What is neat is that I noticed 2 of my facebook friends are your friends :-) Thank you for sharing your wisdom and know that I made my first nettle infusion yesterday and I am happy and excited to see my peri/menopausal/post years as a postive exciting experience.
Thank you!

Hi Susun!

I ran across your book when I was in my early 40's and was facing a hysterectomy for fibroids, endrometreosis and cysts. I was in bad shape. With nothing but Chaste Tree, it was all gone in a year and I went on to have a natural menopause, no real problems… I recommend your book to a lot of women who come to me who are having fertility problems and female problems. The ones that actually go for the herbs get pregnant or go regular. It is wonderful. I am an Astrologer, so I do talk with a lot of women.
Thank you, Sara

We produce organic milk from grass fed, free range cows. We use the milk raw, every day. Our children have all grown up healthy, with no major health problems. It's about time we all embraced a responsible, healthy, seasonal, non-processed diet.
Oddly enough, a child with supposed massive, anaphylactic reaction dairy allergies was caught drinking the fresh milk from the vat. We all panicked and went for the epi-pen... child had NO reaction at all! I kid you not. Child now eats yoghurt made from our milk with no worries at all.
